Young Republic of Slovenia celebrates its 25th anniversary We, the descendants of Slovenians, experienced the homeland of Slovenia as our own before we got to know it, even when it was distant and unattainable to us. Entering the world of democratic and independent countries made it possible for the distance of 12,000 km between our native Argentina and the homeland of our ancestors to be reduced greatly. Gradually, unknown Slovenia has become increasingly known, including in the Argentinian environment: first of all because of its independence, then because of the military conflict, later because of its cultural, sports and political achievements as well as because of its wonderful natural beauty.
Life is much richer when you feel that you have two homelands that are your real home. That there is a place in another part of the world that has always been known to you in your heart. Where you can go “from home, to home” like the Argentinian Slovenian poet Tone Rode.
Slovenia is scattered across the world like few other countries. We, the descendants of Slovenians, really feel we are a part of it. Therefore, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, we wish Slovenia every success, harmony, prosperity and peace.
God bless you, dear Slovenia.
